Lovely thatched pub - the thatch is currently being renewed - close to Yeovil but with a real village feel; there's a nice view from the car park across open countryside to the outskirts of Yeovil. Excellent, reasonably priced lunchtime meal accompanied by a couple of lovely pints of Winter's Tail - very moreish. Two other of the microbrewery beers available, including Odcombe Spring. Leaving by the side exit to the car park you can pop down the passageway and look through a window into the microbrewery. brianagain - 1 Nov 2011 21:11
Called in last night and pleased to report that the microbrewery is back in style - there are three pumps on with Drew's own brews, but the Odcombe No 1 was so perfect that I stayed on it all night. The welcome and service is, as always, very friendly and efficient and the food is the normal high standard for the pub - my steak was the best I've had in ages. BobOs - 7 Jul 2011 09:39
Thriving, pristine and friendly, a country pub that does everything right. Looks like the brewery's still in mothballs, but the two Yeovil beers I tested to destruction over the weekend were exceptional. WebelMC - 29 May 2010 21:59
Village pub run by Paula & Drew. Drew usually runs the microbrewery but had broken his back in a biking accident at the time so the bitters on offer were local Yeovil brews and Thatchers Gold cider (to die for!). Paula seems to manage the accommodation side of the business and prides herself on doing the ‘green thing’ like installing low-energy light bulbs and growing herbs and vegetables in the beer garden. The grub was superbly cooked and very, very tasty. Next time I’m in this part of the world I’d definitely make a bee-line for this place. de101 - 25 Aug 2009 12:02
Excellent village pub with its own microbrewery - Winter's Tail (a most excellent pint) and Half Jack (probably not to everyone's taste) and Yeovil Ale's Stargazer on offer. Warm welcome and very good bar menu and restaurant menu - very good food at reasonable prices. BobOs - 25 Oct 2008 14:10
