please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Made a brief visit after a long walk with my dogs around Southwick Park nearby. Had lager as it was a warm day and I fancied a cold drink. They charged me over 3 for a sour pint of Becks Vier BEFORE informing me that dogs weren't allowed in the pub (I was the only customer) and that I'd have to drink it outside. Won't be going back in a hurry.

Visited this pub for the first time today and found the food very good and of excellent value. Like Tandras I too found the host a most charming Welshman who couldnt do enough to please his customers.
Ten out of ten for the beer which was obviously well kept.
However. my enjoyment of the moment was totally ruined by a duo of very young children who took over the restaurant area with a mass of noisy electronic toys which were clearly audible above their screams. Their mobile toting mother showed little interest in controlling them.
I joined the mass exodus as customers hurriedly drank up and left.
I am frequently in this area on business but have little interest in returning if the management are unable to protect customers from this nursery style environment. Good God I suffer enough of noisy kids at home!

Went there for a family meal - food was plentiful and home cooked and tasted fab, wine excellent. Host was welcoming and friendly without being too intrusive. A great venue for a good Sunday meal - advisable to book though. Garden could do with some tlc but overall fab pub to visit.

Have visited again several times since our last comments, food is brilliant, plentiful and home cooked, pleased to say the big screen has been replaced and is in a separate area away from the food area so no conflict of interest well worth a visit.

Superb fresh and plentiful food, warm and friendly reception, nicely decorated and comfortably furnished. Good selection of beers and comprehensive wine list. Big screen (could do with upgrading) in separate bar area, pool table and skittle alley, reasonable garden and car parking.
Well worth a visit.
