| had lunch here today. i think this pub could be living on past good reviews. we ordered chicken breast, very bland, the chicken was dry, the roast potatoes were weird and the meal not very hot. | Robinson's pub close to the centre of this pleasant village. Like a lot of their rural places, it's foody in the evening but retains a great deal of traditional character, the two separate rooms filled with old jugs, plates, traditional old pictures and wood panelling, as well as a beamed ceiling Red lamps add to the character. The tap room and lounge room are served by a central bar, serving Old Stockport, Dragon's Fire and Unicorn on my visit- not the best selection in the area, but then this is Robbies! All were well-kept, however, and the food was very good too. Various books on Peak district pubs and Robinson's Brewery are at the bar. I enjoyed my visit here, found the service food and beer to be excellent, and would recommend it if you're in the area. Carlurmston - 13 May 2010 17:35 |
