Brilliant, traditional, down-to-earth Holts boozer with a stunning glass-panelled bar. In my view the best pub in the Heatons. Let's hope the brewery don't ruin it by turning it into a food house, which has been mooted. Heatonian - 27 Jun 2009 22:33
Great traditional Holts pub serving well kept Bitter & Mild as well as the occassional seasonal beer. Varied selection of snacks and inexpensive, tasty lunctime meals. Good beer garden as well. I always visit when in the area. Best pub on Didsbury Road. LittleFamilyFish - 6 Nov 2008 15:48
I wasn't born in the Griffin Hotel, but I wish I was. I would have my wedding reception here, if I believed in marriage! We worked out that the beer is so cheap it's more economical to spend your evenings here than heat your own house. That, and they have salt and vinegar frisps. What a wonderful pub. cheesey_toastie - 25 Oct 2008 17:15
Ah, what a refreshing change. A fantastic boozer than serves a wonderful pint at a wonderful price. Within walking distance from Kingsway (good bus routes) this delightful pub oozes character and style with a variety of features including it's monuments to Manchester City FC. The pumps are kept in good order and the bitter goes down a treat. Decent local people inhabit the pub and I'm pleased to announce that there are no chav's, no herberts and no 'one-times' to be found anywhere on sight (unless there's a derby on) Best pub in Heaton Mersey macboswell - 10 Dec 2005 23:02
Great beer Wonderful old Josheph Holt's pub with an amazing bar After closing time, you don't get thrown out. A very attractive beer garden Sadly, a miserable landlady runs the place, otherwise I'd rate it 10/10! PS it is not a hotel! 7thEarlLordLucan - 14 May 2005 23:33
