Saturday was my first visit to the Coburg and probably my last. The one real ale (Pride) was off and the pub didn't justify the walk from the city centre, especially if you have to pass the Baltic Fleet. There are 2 rooms and both are fairly comfortable. Football was showing on the TV. Service was reasonably pleasant and other customers seemed fairly friendly too. There were a few people in. But it wasn't as popular as the Brewery Tap just up the road. Struggling to find anything in particular to recommend.

I must say that the Coburg has improved no end since my last visit. The couple of pints of London Pride that I quaffed on a recent visit were very good indeed and the young man behind the bar couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. This time there was no bad language and the Christmas deccies were a treat.

I found the Coburg rather odd. The bar was empty, sedate and quiet, the lounge on the other hand was frequented by rambunctious local drinkers whose favourite adjective, noun and at times adverb seemed to begin with F, and it wasn't "flippin". Not much more to say about it as the Brewery Tap is only two minutes up the road.

I totally agree with Mr Monkfish . I have been in here twice (staying at local hotel) and both times found the staff and locals friendly and welcoming. Shame there isn't some trad ale, but will deffo go back regardless
