user reviews of the Centurion, Waterlooville

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Sadly I watched Charlton slump to a 2-1 defeat against Stoke City in this boozer Saturday evening (18 Aug). It was virtually empty and the few people here were sheltering from the rain! Not that I expected now championship Charlton to be a crowd puller in this part of the world. A pint of coke set me back 2.20 and despite no sound coming from the main TV screen in front of the bar, I simply moved seats to watch the game in comfort from another screen. There are a number of screens in here so I was spoilt for choice.

There are a couple of jukeboxes and a pool table in this spacious pub, though the carpet was conspicuously tatty with the dcor nondescript. The pub did get a little busier, but I was the only one really watching the game. Given I was in the area and I wanted to watch our game at Stoke, I was extremely grateful this pub was showing the match. I would certainly come here again to watch televised football if in the vicinity, but that's about it. You will NEVER catch me around here on a Friday/Saturday night for instance searching for H-FilesPortsmouth is the place to be on such nights!!
