Popped in for a pint whilst on a long weekend break in Stow. Nice traditional pub. Had a welcoming feel depite us being strangers. Donnington's BB was a very enjoyable pint, didn't have time to sample the SBA. peteyg - 12 Oct 2011 14:51
This is a first-rate pub. It's often busy, but a large part of the business is locals. It's friendly (easy to strike up a conversation with people there) in a good atmosphere. The beers are very well-kept here indeed: Donningtons. The food is good, too. This is a place to stop whenever I'm passing by. 8/10 HenPen - 26 Apr 2011 22:10
A fantastic Cotswolds pub which hasn't relented to the more modernistic style that many have taken over the past few years. A great atmostphere (pop in one xmas day if you're in the area) with plenty of locals and a few out-of-towners. I have yet to eat there but the food looks good in a classic pub food way. They only serve Donningtons, which to be honest is not may favourite of the many local brews, but they serve it very well (and it's certianly not bad). All in all a delight. TGD - 17 Nov 2010 08:13
First ever visit last sunday on way back from the north. Liked the atmosphere and drinks/service etc straight away. Booked a table for the Good Friday lunchtime after recomendation from the staff and, was not disappointed, excellent pub grub/drinks/service. Has it says just a pub. No tv's,pool, blasting music. It was a treat to sit and chat/converse with the staff and, regulars all very friendly. And, enjoy good pub food. A real treat was had by all our party and, we shall of course return, but when the tourists are not quite so over taking. Well done the the Queens Head. full marks from me and the party. james55westhead - 2 Apr 2010 17:36
