Well managed pub selling food and Shepherd Neame beer. Also very close to the railway station (along the line a bit reached by a path).

This is just about the nearest pub to my new house and I'm happy with that. It's not a pub to necessarily spend all night in (not cosy enough), but the food is excellent (and yes, why would you eat out, or at home even, on a Monday night when it's 50% off all food?). The Shep Neame beers a good (only a couple of choices, usually something like Masterbrew and Spitfire) and the wine is also good (apparently according to my other half - the wine reviewer..)

As the nearest pub to the station (and it would have been even closer to the original station which closed in the 1930s), it does have that "passing through" pub feel. Good for a beer after work. It is very good on a sunny evening - the huge windows make it feel very airy.

i wish i managed this place, as it must be making huge amounts of money. Why else would i be refused service after getting of the train and popping in for a last drink about 5 mins before closing time. They must be highly profitable if the lazy, work-shy female barstaff is instructed to refuse custom, cos she can't be bothered and is too busy chatting up her tattooed squeeze sat at the end of the bar.
If your getting off a late train, go to the Patch, as the staff may refuse service at their own discretion, just based on idleness.

Gastro pub. Would only really go to eat. Good food, friendly staff, good beer. Mondays are a steal with almost all the menu half price, a beer and a nice big steak for less than a tenner.

Good beer, Good food, Good service. Bit quiet except the obligatory Sky sports on in the corner even when there are no sports to watch.
