what a shame to hear that the cabaret nights have been cancelled recently due to one disgruntled person. when are people going to learn it's a PUBLIC HOUSE ?! don't move next to a pub if you don't like noise. maybe this person would be better suited in a cave somewhere away from civilisation. i, for one, am very sad to see a community pub's spirit being knocked especially after they seemed to be winning their battle with the pubco behind them. the cabaret nights were always such a great live music event.
To the person who has caused this take note: the general public in and around epsom DON'T feel the same way you do and appreciate this real diamond of a pub and everything it is trying to do. might i suggest you get out of dodge ? maybe the outer hebrides would better suit your way of life.

Sounds as tho' the battle with their pubco is being won...discerning customers may well now re-appear...these are not fooled by industrial beers which is one (of the many associated reasons) potentially great pubs (which have poor products foist upon) are disappearing. It is not that customers are going to other pubs,,,many now just don't bother to come out at all for a poor offering. Are pubco's starting to learn?

i find it odd that some of these reviews appear to be written by the land lord or his wife under various different handles.

Love this pub! Hubby raves about beers - PROPER real ales and bitters. Once i can drink again, I look forward to working through the range. Food reasonably priced and does what is says on the tin. Not our local but likely to become our regular. This is a real gem in a sea of dross. We have had several lovely afternoons here!
