According to one of the local papers the landlord is having problems with meeting his tenancy costs and it appeared from the article the pub might close. The pub co owning this pub said that they have reduced the rent and fixed it into next year. wyndham - 4 Oct 2008 19:34 |
| Further to my review below I have been informed by the landlord that the reason for not starting the promotion was the lack of a delivery. I understand that it has either started or will do shortly. As for my comment about the barmaid all I am saying is that a volume control might come in handy! She is indeed lovely and I have absolutely no complaints about service. GuideDogSaint - 24 Sep 2008 21:24 |

| I visited recently & found all the staff to be very friendly & welcoming, lunch was exelent as was the service, Good selection on hand pump although not all in use. there was a good atmosphere with the staff & locals all enjoying themselfs, I would recomend this pub to anyone in the area. | Seriously starting to wonder about this place. Headed down tonight as according to a press release they are selling real ale at £2 a pint from now until the end of October. Not tonight they weren't. To be fair not an unreasonable £2.75 for Everards Equinox and Butcombe Gold. For a pub with 6 handpumps it was all they seemed to have on, the Copper Dragon Scotts 1816 was halfway turned so not entirely clear. Add to this the most insufferable barmaid you can find and somewhere that seemed a cert for the next Good Beer Guide is going to start losing votes. Down a mark from me.
