Great pub. I've moved away now but since revisited and has a great friendly atmosphere. ps. if anyone knows how to contact any of my old mates, John and Carol Walsh or Ian Ilet please let me know.

It's been my local for decades, so I must like it! But there is no Wifi, A/C or disabled toilet (at least in the gents).

Used to be called the Seven Oaks, and may be again one day I hope, always sad to see a name with tradition wither and die.

The beer is good, though only keg Tetley for a bitter, snif.

One of the managers calls it a 'great no attitude pub' and he's right - even a wiero like me fits in and gets a welcome.

I'd give it a ten but for the music which occasional drowns out all hope of conversation.

Named after the London Skolars Rugby League team, who play just down the road at the New River Stadium in National League 2. They have Darts, 2 Pool Tables, and Sky. Despite being in the area a freind of mine calls 'Nam (as in Tottenham) I have never had less than a warm welcome in here. They welcome Northerners who are down for the weekend, mostly in 50-100. It's getting a reputation "Up-North" as a decent boozer.
