user reviews of the Ship Victory, Chester

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Bit surprised to be the first to post on this pub since December 2006.

The Ship Victory is a small traditional locals pub oddly situated in the corner of a large pay and display car park near the station and just off the ring road.

Notably, for a City Centre pub, it has the feel of a real community local - there's regular music nights and quiz evenings etc

Its a CAMRA friendly pub and has been a GBG regular recently.

I enjoyed a pint of Drummer Bitter from a local Cheshire micro on my recent visit. The other pump was serving Tetleys.

It seems to be a Manchester City supporters pub.

The beer range is too limited for this to be a "must visit" pub, but it's worthy of consideration in a city where real traditional local pubs seem thin on the ground

odd one this, it stands alone near a car park.A start pub, work you way throw the drink menu and when you has about ten pints then go on the train to Liverpool to start a good session, then at night come back to chester for one or two.

A great little pub, with a friendly atmosphere. If you stand at the bar with your drink, you'll be brought into the conversation as if you're there every night. Tuesday night is Acoustic Jam night, free entry, and, again, very friendly. Normally two hand pumps on: Tetley's and a quest. One of the few traditional pubs left in the city.

Bit of a dingy boozer, nothing special. When i was there there was some god-awful bloke singing, he looked like he was straight out of pensioner's holiday camp in the 1970s.
