Queued up for a bit only for some regulars to turn up who were immediately served by their friend behind the bar even though it was blatantly obvious I'd been stood there for ages. There's some great fullers pubs around but this isn't one of the. The Jack Frost Ale was OK but still won't be going back here in a hurry. PerivaleElvis - 1 Feb 2012 17:07
Been drinking in The Whistle on and off for ten years. I'm in every weekend and have just read the review from 'Fulham Lady' which I couldn't agree with less. You shouldn't be posting reviews that are exaggerated rubbish - it's unfair on the staff that are working hard to keep you safe. That young lass was the aggressive one - she'd pushed the door man too far already that night and it was a good security decision to ask her to leave. I'd have been much rougher with anyone speaking to me like that! Anyway, keep up the good work Whistle team - your ale is still as outstanding as ever and in ten years I've never, ever felt intimidated. caskaleking - 27 Oct 2011 16:31
A cracking pub on Putney High street, a great place to watch the football, with a friendly atmosphere and smiling staff. I would deffinatly recommend calling in for a nice pint of Pride and a lip smacking burger. sheepinthecity - 19 Oct 2011 11:41
Sorry to say that I witnessed very poor and unprofessional behavior from one of the security staff at The Whistle and Flute this evening. A strong and stocky man, he roughly manhandled and then physically threw a slightly built young woman out of the door. During this process she fell to the floor and her arm was badly bruised. Evidently it was time for customers to drink up and leave but there were plenty of other people still inside the pub, who were being allowed to finish their drinks in peace. Even if the customer was reluctant to leave, there was no excuse whatsoever for the treatment she received. The employee in question doesn't appear to be fit to work with the public. I won't be going into the Whistle again. FulhamLady - 2 Oct 2011 02:51
What a change! Last went in The Whistle over 6 months ago and was greeted by unsmiling staff and aggressive regulars. Went for a pint yesterday and they've got new staff and managed to get rid of the nasty atmosphere. I'd fully recommend this pub to anyone who has been put off it before! Great Ales (I had the Bengal Lancer - brilliantly hoppy!) and the burger I had was amazing - tasty and cooked perfectly. Watched the Manchester derby game and had a great time. Friendliest service I've received in a long time - manager very keen for me to have a taster of each ale and new his stuff. Keep it up guys! loverofale - 11 Nov 2010 12:15
