| Olde Worlde pub with wooden floor and beams, and quite a history. Cool in the summer and cosy in the winter when they have a fire going. Staff are usually efficient and friendly, and the restaurant upstairs is pretty good, albeit a tad pricey. Like the bar food, which is at least of a reasonably good quality. All the booze seems okay, the beer well kept. Codrotten - 21 Oct 2011 19:12 |
| Went here the other day. Impressed with the service. 3 real ales on. Especially good pub to go to at this time of year as you can take drinks outside and walk out on the harbour. Decent pub in an excellent location. outtamehead - 8 Aug 2011 13:08 |
| Went yesterday evening -- a Saturday on a nice Summer evening -- but had no trouble getting a table for four of us. The Abbot Ale was spot on. The locals would be justified in being annoyed by tourists, but instead seemed friendly to non-locals: while waiting at the bar I heard a local chatting with two American visitors. | Very inviting 18th century pub, just a stones throw away from the beach / harbour. As far as I'm aware, this pub does not have a garden but during the summer months you can take your drink and sit on the beach or harbour (bar staff will obviously provide plastics). The inside of the pub is very warm and welcoming, and during the winter months, there is always a log fire on the go!. Last time I visited the pub on a Sunday lunchtime, there were so many roast potatoes, sausages, cheese chunks etc up at the bar, I didn't need to eat again until later in the evening!. There is a seafood restuarant attached to this pub, it also provides many other dishes (I haven't yet sampled the food). I visit this pub everytime I go to Broadstairs lynzUK - 3 May 2011 08:13 |
