| This is now a very good pub.Only a very few are grummpy regulars, ie, Capt Pugwash, The little Cherub, and Pain in the Butt. In most cases pensioners sitting rooms are quite comfy. I find it very frienly NOT clanish.Landlady and staff friendly and down to earth. freddy2 - 12 Jul 2009 16:01 |
| This pub has had a chequered history recently. The previous landlord gave up and alowed his family to run it whilst he and his wife went to Nth wales - every weekend. The pub wa on the brink of closure. It is now under new management. Ann and her daughter Jane are retturning the pub to its village status. Gone are the TV screens that were on constantly under the old management blaring out mindless pop videos. That was never the pubs image and now it is booming an excellant choice of ales and friendly management and customers. sturmbock - 28 May 2009 08:28 |
| I agree with most of the previous comments. Seats in the bar are passed down from father to son and seats at the tables from mother to daughter. Don't make the mistake of sitting down anywhere as you will surely be sitting in somebody's chair and will be stared at until you leave. Disaster of a pub. | It might have cask ale but it was largely undrinkable on my recent visit. A scary women's darts match was taking place and purchase of raffle tickets unavoidable. Friendly boss. Peculiar decor - like a pensioner's sitting room. Could be much better. pubconnoisseur - 14 Dec 2007 20:54 |
