Its years since I've been in this pub, what a shock I got, I remember an olde world atmosphere with old Stan the manager, geeze how times change, I sent 2 pints back because of dirty glasses, I sent a whisky back because the glass still had a 'rum' smell, so not washed properley, the decor is in need of a fix, and the old patrons I remember have in the most part been replaced by dubious looking characters, also the whiff of substances that were not cigars was a big put off, although not all negative, in the area that I remember as the bar were some charming old gentlemen of the old school who it was a pleasure to talk to, staff could have been more cheerful..I think it will be many more years before I set foot in this establishment again, sadly it looks like its got to the stage were it needs a tough manager

jus got in from a crawl of a few in the area, it was ok i thought but my fella said his pint was iffy next time we will try the grub, hic

Great pub, great atmosphere, good grub, friendly staff and BOSS beer!!! I LOVE THE WALNUT TREE!!!

Its open yet again, not for long as the new manager is still allowing the same scum in, the ale stinks, food is not good, and service is appalling
