| This used to be a lovely little pub, good service, good food and comfy surroundings. Great for Sunday dinner and popping in for lunch. Good value Sundays and reliable lunches. All this has changed, modern surroundings, poor service & poor food. Never again will I accept packet mash as there are no roasties. Microwaved, pre-prepared veg. | I have been to the Rose and Crown twice and have a mixed opinion about it. The food itself is excellent, well cooked and very large portions, and the beer is served well - regular beers include Abbey Ales Bellringer. | I remember visiting here years (decades) ago and being distinctly unimpressed. Having returned recently I am pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is still a little dated, but the staff are very friendly and a lot better than expected. The food is standard pub fair and freshly cooked to perfection.
