I visited this place with a friend earlier in the year. Its an attractive pub in a great spot so was looking forward to it. We ordered the "Dark and Hansome", took a slurp and found it was off. When trying to have our beers changed we suffered a drawn out conversation with the barmaid who assured us that it was fine; that she had sold loads that morning and it "is a strong beer"... We tried to exchange for a pint of "Blind House" and that too was off. Eventually we got a good pint. But didn't stay for a second, taking the short walk along the river to the Avoncliff where the same beers were served in tip top condition. I would like to be able to recommend this pub but dont feel I can.

As a former Freshforder (born and bred) it's nice to see some decent reviews of The Inn. It's been very much an eating house rather than a pub for many years now, which is a shame for locals who just want to enjoy a pint. On the plus side, it's in a beautiful setting and has character in spades. If you're passing that way, it's got to be worth dropping in.

Called in here in July and spent a delightful couple of hours supping ales from the Box Steam Brewery (I think this place and the nearby Cross Guns are the only pubs selling this lovely stuff).Nice little garden at the back, and I was asked if I'd like my ale in a jug - what's not to like? Also, its only a 5-10 minute walk up from the train station and afterwards you can head on to Avoncliff and the Cross Guns(about a mile's pleasant strolling)and get the train back from there - if you're heading back to Bath and Bristol for further ale sampling as we were!

i visited the Inn at the weekend and found it to be a wonderful haven the garden looked wonderful with the lights in the trees, and inside the staff were so welcoming it was a delight as so many pubs dont have this any more. Out side the pub it said new owner and new menu which i was looking forward to trying and when i did i was not dissapointed at all it came out looking as if it should of been in a top hotel not a country pub and tasted wonderful its such a joy to have food not from a microwave as so many pubs do. i will be going back time and time again and i do recomend it to any one of you.
