Reasonable place. Interesting decor - not to everyones taste, but ok. Seemed to be doing good food trade. The beer was ok. Worth a visit but not a detour. MrBlue - 8 Feb 2011 14:06
I've just moved to the area and this is quite a cool place. The cocktails are pretty good and there's quite a nice vibe with the music. They do tables service which was quite handy being outside! fish123 - 22 Nov 2010 16:49
There was ale when I was in there; Spitfire. It is a perplexing place, the Goat in Boots; with a big hole down to the lower floor which boasts leather chairs, while the upstairs is wooden and distracting. Who was the goat in boots? Some Regency buck known for tumbling anything in a petticoat? Or is it Pan himself, the seer of visions, the piper at the gates of dawn? rainlight - 8 Apr 2009 21:31
I had a very dissapointing visit last night. The pub had run out of cider when I fancied an Aspell and the remaining beer selection was average with nothing special on the ale front. The decor was also pretty average and I thought some more effort could have been made in view of the fantastic location. Worst part of all though as the stench eminating from the toilets - unreasonably strong stale urine that was so bad that my girlfriend left early! CaptainJamesTPint - 30 Apr 2008 12:34
Not a bad place usual largers on offer but no ales. If it's too crowded in the main bar venture downstairs for a bit more privacy. Normal pub food on offer. Good place to have a beer while waiting for the line to die down for Sophie's steakhouse up the road. pezza132 - 16 Dec 2005 10:42
