Changed hands yet again, bloke fron Northern Tavern, pub no better though, only Master Brew, 3.7 OG £3, disappointing taste, seem to remember many more taps the last time I was here. Don't think I'll bother to revisit until it changes hands again, probably not long, can't understand a brewing company not selling it's brews in it's own pub. Bigglesworth - 21 Jun 2010 15:26
Sorry Readers, the last last line of the last posting should read as follows - It's rubbish, don't bother going, your better off staying in or spend your money elsewhere. zero/ten suebarker - 14 Sep 2009 13:51
GAY GAY GAY GAY This pub is now "GAY" thanks to the new landlord (Beryl) who is the old landlord from the Queens Arms on George Street in Brighton. No food, no real ale and all the Kylie you can listen too ! No thanks, Kemp town doesn't need another Gay Bar The Stag used to be a great pub with sports, karoke and decent food. Now it is just rubbish, don't bother going spend you're better staying in 0/10 suebarker - 14 Sep 2009 13:33

Dear oh dear. Some years ago (not quite during the war but about 5 anyway....) this used to be an ace pub, a selection of 52 meat sausages and 10 vegetarian used to pull in the punters from miles around, it had bar billiards, an atmosphere, great beers and everything you could want from a decent pub. I was in here last weekend (5/11/5) and was the only patron other than my girlfriend who I'd been talking this place up to since we met. Sad to say she thinks I'm a habitual lier and is forcing me to sleep in the garden for three months until I can afford to take the pub back over, re-instate the sausage only menu and get some punters back in, I might decorate too, when I was there it seemed someone got bored halfway through the day and gave up. Still the bar man was very friendly although his music taste was shocking. Cidermaster - 11 Nov 2005 13:26
