A group of over 20 of us arrived on Saturday for drinks and food. Our walk leader had advised Pat to expect us and we were given a first class welcome. Pat and his bar maid Tetsie made sure that we all had a drink and then set about taking food orders. They were not phased by the invassion and the London Pride was very good. I can reccommend the Scottish rump steak in a bread roll and salad garnish. I saw a lot of clean plates! Pat had even arranged for Paul to show us two films. What fantastic hospitality and service. Wher else can you find a landlord with 26 years in the same pub. gricergreen - 25 Jan 2010 20:23
I doubt you could find a warmer welcome in London! Tried this pub on a Friday night, to be warmly greeted by Pat, the landlord and his regulars. A pub with a great local history, 80's music on in the background and a good selection of beers, including London Pride. RichardWaters - 23 Jan 2010 16:57
good old boozer. no fruit machines etc... late licence fri/sat and proper DJ playing 80's disco/indie and recent foot tapping tunes... steak sandwich's on week days are a treat... ifyourbuying - 26 Dec 2008 16:25
Gorgeous Victorian pub on the outside, cozy and friendly on the inside. Good pub food, good steaks. Definitely a locals pub in the good sense (in that it has a community feel, rather than being a place where you'll get the Slaughtered Lamb experience walking in). It's hidden on a tiny back street where you'd never go looking for it, but it's worth seeking out. Whenever I take people there they think I don't know where I'm going and then suddenly we're there and then it's closing time and I can't drag them out. I loved it so much I moved to Bermondsey just so it could be my local. JRob - 2 Apr 2008 12:22
Easily missed, as it's on a side street just off Grange and Tower Bridge roads. Good for a quiet drink (Pride the only ale, very good condition) and a pub that the landlord clearly takes good care of - brass, wood and tiles all well looked-after. You'd not know it was there unless you looked for it, but it's worth finding. pablos13 - 21 Dec 2007 14:03
