Slake - If I had to check every beer, every day to ensure it wasn't on the turn I'd be drunk before we opened. Sometimes one has to gamble with some new breweries to cater for the tickers otherwise we'd sell nothing BUT Oakham ales. It's nice to give the micro-breweries some support but problem beers are not repeated. If you do have a problem with a pint we will always check the ale and exchange it and unfortunately I will be presenting less beers for festivals in future as people don't drink a wide variety and they deteriorate before they are sold.

You can buy 568ml of vinegar for about £1.50 in a supermarket. A pint of vinegar here costs about £2.80. I'd rather drink ale where it is fresh. The pizzas and staff are still some of the best in the city.
