Had a special offer voucher and went on an early evening of a Bank Holiday. It was very quiet in both the bar and restaurant. Food as good as any of the Mitchell and Butler gastropub groups we've ever been to, can't comment on the beer but wine very well kept. Service a little slower than we have experienced before but the food was very good so no complaints.

Hmm, they keep Tweeting... cheap Champagne & great food?
If they tweeted ' great local real ale on the bar' they'd be mobbed!!!
A sad pub right now, bit of a shame really.

Ate here once with the wife when we had first met. Meal came to £26 thirty years ago! Haven't been back since.

Oh dear, after reading the previous post regarding Doombar!!!
Not really a local ale. Shame the Red Lion is not a free house.
Bland beers from a tied list presumably? Shame...
