sad to report that our neighborhood pub, the parr's head in camden has shut down after 150 years in business. it was a true local's local and will be missed by many in the area. some people have been coming for well over 50+ years. spent a great weekend at the pub and came pretty close to drinking it dry. no big surprise that they will be turning it into flats.

the bell for last call officially tolled at 7:00pm last night 24.10.2011 and while glasses were dry, the tears were not.

popped in here on Sunday afternoon on the way back from Sainsburys, for a couple of pints.Very old school place everyone seems to know each other,it has a rather well worn charm to it.The only thing going against was thou they were showing a Celtic game on tv, the sound was off but they had Magic FM blasting out of the speakers.I could not work this out, would have considered going back, but the tv versus radio was a real distraction.....

Im not surprised that there has been no review of this place for over two and a half years as the vast majority of the regulars in here have probably never used a computer.

The barmaid was pleasant and there is a plasma screen at each end of the pub, one of which is huge. Also, there are some standard lagers available alongside two real ales that were both off during my visit.

The reason that I went in here was to watch the second half of the Man U(re) game and the pub did its job. Im not sure that I would have enjoyed it as much if there was no sport on and I certainly wouldnt go out of my way to visit here again.

A disgrace. Top prices & looks and smells like a toilet. No redeeming features at all.
