Went in there the other day and was pleasantly surprised after reading the other reviews.
The food was cooked nicely, quick and plentiful.
The beer was cheap and excellent.
Spoke to the landlady who was very pleasant and told me she had problems with a few 'lively' people who are now banned from the pub as she wants the pub to be more family friendly.
She is having a halloween party so am going to go back on that night and stay as there are rooms to rent :)

Good pint of Otter ale, clientel as mentioned in other reviews are a tad 'colourful', maybe not somewhere to take your granny.

Went yesterday for a spot of lunch. Mixed experience. The Otter beers (Ale and Bitter) were excellent. The sausages and chips were good value for the money. The landlady was pleasant and welcoming. But some of the clientele were not - drunk and foul-mouthed (at lunchtime ??). Wouldn't take anyone in there, which is a pity because this pub has improved a lot over the last ten years.

We always pop in here when doing the dawish circuit.
A smallish place but quite lively and they do a great pint of fosters for £2.50 the last time i was in.
Just across the alleyway from the exeter inn so also handy for the railway station.

Have had a couple of visits to this pub one time was pleasant with a very friendly landlady the other was a bad experience with a rude barmaid. Basically after getting settled in and then deciding to play pool me and a friend decided to put a few tunes on the jukebox ..Well they must not have been to the barmaid's taste as she turned it down which to me is rude because I was a paying customer. Certainly does not encourage you to visit again.
