Pete and team have had to really pull the stops out in order to overcome the bad reputation the George & Dragon had earned under its previous management and I think that they have exceeded themselves! The service and food are very good and Pete will put himself out to ensure that you leave happy, nothing is too much trouble. tony5026 - 13 Oct 2007 20:02
Great food, lovely people, good selection of beers, and great atmosphere. What else would you want in a venue for a meal out or just a drink? In the summer, the lawned area is fantastic to sit out in, they do regular BBQs, and all year round they have entertainment nights. Great place. tarkamoo - 12 Oct 2007 19:08
This pub was recently took over by villagers Steve, Pete, Ann & Margaret, and so far they're doing a wonderful job. If you like a friendly pub that serves excellent food & drink The George & Dragon is the place to go. The meat on the menu comes from nearby Spring Barrow Lodge Farm, and is very, very tasty (to say the least)! On Sunday evenings they have 'well above average' entertainment acts performing - Give them a call to see who's on this week! And if you're petrolhead's like us...........you'll be pleased to hear that the pub has a nice large car park with absolutely no craters! Elaine & Richard Jordan ExigeS2 - 29 Jun 2007 14:11
4 went for meal tonight with grandson. Waited ages for meals, one didn't arrive with others. When it did it wasn't what was ordered. The worst dining experience we have had in years. Won't be visiting again. Johnf - 3 Dec 2006 21:15
Real ale and quality cuisine under one roof - quite exceptional. Friendly and relaxed, not yer normal "pub grub". Ninja45 - 7 Sep 2006 15:09
