Went into this pub at 12.30pm and was greeted by friendly northern landlady. Pub has got a good feel about it apart from the intrusive pool table and they have good offers on drink and lunch which undercuts the Swan across the road (not that difficult).

Problem is that as she has only been there for 4 weeks she's "testing the water" before serving real ale. Bad mistake so a swift exit was made.

Went in there a couple of weeks ago to see some live bands playing. The place was packed and the atmosphere good, both inside and out. Everybody very friendly, bar staff fine BUT no real ale at all. All three handpumps were not being used. That was a major disappointment so I made do with one bottle of London Pride all evening. Such a shame as the rest of the evening was very good. Pubs like this need to get their act together so that ale drinkers aren't disappointed. Not everybody is content to drink lager or guiness etc. I'd go there again however, just for the music.

Visited lunchtime and found this place to be friendly. I accidentally spilled my beer over my wife's food, and they immediately replaced it without question. Excellent customer service. 2 ales on tap, Courage Best and Bombadier (excellent pint - £2.50).
Good pub without pretentions.

Visited 25Oct07. Landlord friendly enough, but only draught beer on offer was John Smith's at £3 a pint.
Probably wouldn't bother again.

I do not have enough good things to say about this Pub. I stayed two weeks on a business trip next door in the Ann Boleyn Hotel and was looking for a quite place with nice conversation for my evening beers. Stopped in a few pubs in Staines and finally settled for the Jolly Farmer, Ended up staying until closing time each day I was there. If you want a Sports Bar like what you may find in America, go elsewhere. This is a nice, authentic, English Pub where you will meet great people and good conversation. Can not wait to go back and meet with James, Brim Emma, Jay, Alan and all the regulars..
If you go there please mention The Puertorrican Guy sent you...
