Ignore the previous review - he clearly dosn't have a clue what a proper pub is/should be (stick to weatherspoons next time)! This is a victorian end of terrace boozer how pubs used to be. In a town full of terrible pubs this is a gem, well worth a look.

Cheshirecat must have had (liquid) cause to be grinning to have had an enjoyable time at this place...the truth is that the locals are boozy and unfriendly, the beer is generally flat, the toilets stink and the whole building is long overdue conversion into flats. Avoid...especially if you have female company.

Nice 2 room pub witha pool table. Branoc and Doombar on offer at £2.30. Friendly landlady with a reasonable taste in music! Well worth finding.

A traditional brick built, corner pub, with black paintwork

The interior was open plan with a pool area and dartboard. The decor was cream and red panel. It had a nice wood bar and wood floor. There were nice local photos and prints on the walls. There was Sky TV and the background music was supplied by Heart FM (a little too loud). There wasnt food on as i remember. The service and locals seem friendly enough to me.

Beer; usual tap tosh with Bay's Gold and Branscombe Branoc on handpull - the Bays was a little lifeless.

The pub is traditional and i really enjoyed it - the beer wasnt the best on the day, but i would return.

Agree this is probably the only proper pub in Exmouth. Interesting and largly friendly locals. Has seen meny changes over the years, but seems to return to a back street local every time. I still shudder to recall, when the tried to attract the G and T crevat wearing crowd. Decent pint, but could do with a good clean. Gents was rather smelly.
