The ales were in good shape when I was there taking part on the quiz night. Seems a great place.

Average SN pub with the usual ales on show, one of the better pubs in the area along a quite residential street not much else really going for it tho.

This pub has been my local for the last 4 years. At first it can seem either very quiet or somewhat overrun by locals depending on what time you go, but persevere and there is a real gem here. The landlord and staff are friendly, and the regulars are too if you give them time, the food can be amazing, and the real ale is brilliant. For those who state this place is unwelcoming, I must disagree... all are welcome in this pub, even those much maligned pub minorities: children and dogs! Compared to the other scruffy local pubs, and tourist bars, this place has a real charm to it.

Summer evenings in the garden out back, and winter nights on comfy sofas by the fire. What more could you ask for?

Excellent and well kept Shepherd Neame beer, decent wine list, friendly staff who make everyone feel welcome, and good food (try the Sri Lankan Black Chicken curry) ! The front terrace and garden are ideal if the weather is nice.
The exact opposite of all of the Greenwich pubs run (or should that be ruined) by Greenwich Inc.

Spitfire, Masterbrew, Kent’s Best, Whitstable Bay, all in pretty good shape, the latter very good indeed, as one would hope for £3.20. The pub is fairly characterless with insipid modernity but I hadn’t previously realised it has a nice part-tented beer garden to the rear, in addition to the outside seating at the front.
