user reviews of the George and Dragon, Upton

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Please note: Vegetarian's not catered for. We drove there for a Sunday lunch and they do not offer a vegetarian option. Pub looked nice, shame we had a wasted trip.

Now under new Management. Bill and Ciello are very welcoming and the pub has taken on a very welcoming aura. The beer's not bad either!

Curiously empty on a bank holiday Saturday evening.

Good food, some home made, but nothing spectacular - lasagne, chilli, curry, burger, steaks and so on.

Sign outside proclaim: Bikers Welcome.

good beer is back in Upton at last! Good foos too! Wishing Carol and Bryan well in bringing this pub back from the dead. Well kept beer and good home made food, all served up with an enthuisiastic air.A great lunch venue for those walking the Ridgeway Path.

Recently taken over by Carol and Bryan, who offer decent pub grub (superb venison roast and delicious steak) and well-kept real ale (Greene King plus guest). There's a large garden with a children's play area, and it's close to some great walking (there's a boot cleaner around the back for those of us that like a pint after a walk). Not sure about weekday hours, but they're open all day on Saturday and Sunday.
