The food is cooked well but the staff seem to be the big problem in this pub. My waitress (dot or maybe Dorothy) I think her name was made my visit awful, when she greeted us to ask what we would like she looked uninterested and didn't even make eye contact. She was the rude throughout the rest of our time there and i think this was just how she is because she was doing the same on other tables. The service is appalling. I didn't even get asked if my meal was OK. I will not be returning any time soon and would like to take this matter further.

I love coming here, as 9 times out of 10 the food is great.
The pints of lager are more than reasonably priced, its just a shame it takes about 20 mins to get served at the bar. :(

I am not a regular, but I often enjoy a meal here. Something I have always felt with Harvester is that there is a lot of choice on the menu; for starters, main course and dessert! The breaded mushrooms are amazing; the combination of crunchy breaded exterior, tender mushroom centre and succulent taste is an unrivalled sensation; and no, I don’t work for Harvester but they should pay me for that kind of advertisement! But PLEASE, PLEASE, WAIT FOR THE MUSHROOMS TO COOL DOWN OR RISK BURNING YOUR TONGUE! Oh, and the garlic and herb dip is delicious!

I hate sitting around waiting for my food but thanks to the salad bar you don’t have to! So go up and get yourself a salad and some bread, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SOME CROUTONS! (I think I spelt that right.) You can also have a refill soft drink, which is always good!

The service is great! I last ate there after returning from Amsterdam for New Years, and in Amsterdam the service was terrible! (Don’t get me wrong, I love Dutch people, especially partying with them, but don’t ask them to work while they’re working, they hate it!) So it was bank holiday Sunday after New Years, we got off the plane, got on the train and decided to go to Harvester. They were honest that they were busy and they were BUSY! But they worked extremely hard to make sure everyone was served as quickly as possible and our waitress was very sweet, friendly and polite.

The portions are a nice size (and I eat a lot! :-D), the layout is well planned and atmosphere is great! The only negative I can give is that they brought over a couple of spare plates that hadn’t been cleaned properly, so because of that one blip, 9 stars out of 10 instead of full marks. Get a better dishwasher!!!

I have just returned from the Harvester W7, after having lunch with my Mother and Aunt. What a total disgrace. The table was wobbly, had to be put straight with beer mats!! The food was edible, but not good. Were told to shout for a waitress or else we would have been left sitting there! After our salad, we had to wait about half an hour for the main course, which was not good. There are no plates on the table, only one set of knives and forks for all courses, and still no side plates, no serviettes, no nothing! It was like a bigger version of a call in greasy spoon. Will not grace the shores of the Harvester ever again. Very, very poor. Food, service, tables, layout a sham.
