A proper pub. Very friendly locals. Worth seeking out. Not far from the station.

Nice 'locals' Marston pub in a quiet back street, two rooms, friendly bar staff and customers, nice and comfortable. 4 hand pumps, we had Everards 'Equinox' and St Austell 'Trelawny Gold' both were good.

Locals' pub in a pleasant suburb of Shrewsbury behind the station and near the river and jail, quite leafy and with attractive terraced houses. Its easy to miss but i recommend you don't, as it's a proper little boozer and the beer is excellent. Jennings cocker Hoop, Cumberland and Marstons Empire available on my visit, the cocker hoop was in good fettle. The basic tap room is where everybody was on my visit- not unfriendly or intimidating at all. It has a wooden floor and traditional furnishings. Also an electric fire and unobtrusive TV. The Lounge can only be reached by going into the yard where the toilets are and in again, and its a bit more spruced up but nobody was in on a Saturday afternoon. Good pub, worth the 5 minute walk out of town

Despite the previous sentiment from 18 months ago by some anonymous muppet I called in here last night. It's a nice little locals pub in a residential area well away from the town centre. It has a comfortable lounge reached via a separate side entrance or through the bar. This was full last night as there appeared to be a meeting of some kind on. I had a drink in the tap room which has a dart board, fruit machine and a quiz machine. Three handpumps on each bar serving Pedigree, Brakspears Oxford Gold and Jennings Cockerhoop. Had a pint of the Oxford Gold which was excellent. It was pretty quiet in this room but everyone seemed friendly enough. I'll certainly call in again.
