keep away, this is our pub! Go somewhere else, we don't want your kind round here. anonymous - 2 Aug 2007 08:03
Lovely little pub, extremely friendly and a good selection of ales. Shame now the extended licensing laws are now in place that it shuts earlier than before! wibbin - 15 Aug 2006 19:26
Perhaps I'm a little less easy to intimidate than our anonymous friend, but I find it a very easy pub to find someone to talk to. I do agree about the high standard of real ales which rotate frequently. Can be smokey and is small so can be crowded, but well worth a visit. shropspy - 19 Jul 2006 14:53
Much frequented by the locals, because of a) the high standard of cask beers b) the friendly atmosphere c) a very 'local' local It can be a bit intimidating to newcomers, as everyone knows each other but, once accepted, no problem. Good darts, cribbage and domino competitions in the winter. Plus a golf society and fishing interests. Enters the local inter-pub quiz in the winter. A bookshelf includes a selection of volumes to provide information when needed. A monthly pub quiz, with taking going to a local charity. Occasional 'gastronomic' events, if and when appropriate. Dogs allowed, even welcomed, with dog biscuits supplied. Unfortunately, no drinking allowed outside because of problems with the neighbours! anonymous - 8 Jun 2006 17:14
