Interesting if a little cramped, this two-bar boozer has potential and my pint of OBB was in top nick. A nice touch with the Phoenix theatre posters on the wall and this pub is a classic example of Samuel Smiths and the people that go - a mixture of young and old, native and foreign. Not quite as blessed in the decorative sense as some of the other central London SS pubs, it is still worth seeking out.

On a rainy winters days, The Angel is the best place to go as it has three real coal fires and is really cosy. One bad thing is that the garden has to shut at 5:45 in the Summer as on a couple of miserable so-&-so's (I want to use stronger words to describe them) I want to use stronger words to describe them, complained.
Whats the point of having a Beer Garden if you cant use it on nice Summer evenings? I cant'e believe that the Samuel Smiths brewery simply submitted to them. Also Sams Smiths have altered the pub grub and you can no longer get a quick sanie. Shame on you Humphry Smith

Maybe we should start a campaign group to Acknowledge St Giles as a seperate London Village to Soho(a good excuse for a Monthly p*ss up!!)

Its about time people made a stand

Anyone know of any St Giles Born/raised celebs we can get on our side?
The only ones i know are all dead!! Or ficticious(Richard Sharpe, from Bernard Cornwalls "Sharpe" Novels) springs to mind.
