Decent looking pub, close to Ely's more renowned pubs, so it won't be a detour to pop in here to see if they have a tick or two for you. 6 cask handpumps and a number of kegs available. They also offer accommodation.

Poorest of the pubs in Ely that we visited. Went in after visiting the Liberty Belle. The pub was completely empty. Limited selection of ale and then ten minutes in, told they would be closing in a further ten minutes. Maybe that was why it was empty in the first place (it was just after 9 p.m. when we entered).

In for a quiet pint and a meal at lunchtime in this gloomy underlit bar, which was empty except for a couple of locals at the bar. GK IPA was OK and the food was passable pub grub. Very pleasant barmaid. Doubt whether it welcomes the opening of the excellent Liberty Belle across the road.

Had a pint of Olde Trip in here. Nice barmaid: very quiet though.

Recently taken over (mid-September 2011) by a very enthusiastic couple. Talked with them over a pint of IPA. Massively improved from previous tennants! Matt is a great guy who's passionate about caring for his pub and beer (they actually clean the lines now, unlike the last slob). Jo is a lovely lady who takes care of the cooking. Again, much improved and could be one of the best places for pub food in Ely very shortly.
I was there Friday 23rd Sept 2011 and they had a live act in the pub. The atmosphere was electric with people dancing all over the place, it was a great night out.
Bright start and a bright future I think.
