| Very smart interior. A decent selection of real ales ( I had the Woodforde Wherry). Attentive barman made sure I got served OK, it was a busy night. Some of the customers were a bit noisy but they were friendly. | This was the forth pub I tried on Thursday trying to get some lunch. On entering, something didn't seem right. It did not feel very "pubby" - if that is a word. From the limited menu, prices and foreign staff it felt yuppie. Having now read the previous reviews I'm not sure if my first impressions were right. | Excellent place to go now that it has been fully redeveloped and refurbished to a very high standard.The riff raff and feral scum that used to go in the pub have all been got rid of and the pub always has 4 real ales and a good wine selection.The food is locally sourced and is really good value too.I can thoroughly recommend this pub for good ale,good food and the landlady is always very welcoming and talkative! sweeties1975 - 7 Feb 2010 14:42 |
