Sunny Bournemouths warmest welcome. Traditional Irish pub. Don't make me laugh!!
I visited there saturday 29th March with my sons for a drink and a bit of lunch, it was a joy to get out of the strong winds and rain. After buying drinks and sitting down we were just looking at the menu when the same barman then asked for ID from my sons (20 and 16) I stated it was a bit late as we had already been served and my youngest was with me. My youngest was perfectly legally drinking coke and we were about to order food so he could have legally had a beer!
Neither he or his manager would listen to reason and wanted to throw us out. I said we would leave under protest after we had finished our drinks which wasn't good enough for the landlord of the pub with Bournemouths warmest welcome so he called the police.
1) Traditional Irish pubs welcome families.
2) If this is Bournemouths warmest welcome they can stick it.
3) O'neills have just lost a regular customer, I vow never to set foot inside one again until I receive a full explanation and an apology.
Thanks O'neills for ruining a nice family day out with my sons.
Paul.
