| Can gey busy+odd dodgy person, less friendly than some seem to think,but generally not too bad. ALTHOUGH..ordered a pint and was handed LITERARLY a glass of HALF beer and HALF foam! Am looking at it on my mobile now while writing and often have to show it to prove my story (yeah, but it wasn't really half head...) They did sort it, but were happy to give it to me to begin with! | This is one of the better O'Neills I've been dragged into, but mainly because there was a band on who were half decent and the crowd were up for the craic (which in common with all the other O’Neills, was about the only thing vaguely Irish about the place) Gann - 5 Apr 2009 20:28 |
| I play in a number of Poole/Bournemouth based rock bands so this is the gigging musicians take on this place. The crowd is great. A good mix of students, locals and people who know you will get good music at this venue. The staff are always helpful, drinks seem fine and cheaper than 'trendy' bars that adorn Old Chrisctchurch Rd. This is one gig we always look forward to playing. Sweepickit - 12 Mar 2009 11:32 |
| This pub has gone through a lot of change in the past few years, not always good but at the moment its great here ! It's not a student bar - price of drinks ensures that and is my only complaint but it is cheaper than a lot of the 'trendy' bars in town. I know I can turn up here any time and its relaxed, normally with good live music and I can have a good time without any hassle. Long may this continue !
