Friendly management in a pleasant village inn. Hopefully the locals will visit enough to keep it open.

Well kept beer (that changes regularly), excellent whisky (according to my husband who started drooling at seeing the selection), the food is standard pub grub, but very GOOD pub grub

The wife and I stopped off here once for lunch on our way to Norfolk. The pub faces onto one side of the very charming Market Square of Swavesey.

They had sold their last of the jacket potatoes, but sustenance was found in the form of cheese toasties and a couple of halves of Strongbow (non-watered down).

A very nicely-maintained Jelkes bar billiards table was there, demanding to be played, and it is a very easy table to play, the only slight criticism being that the table is hard against a wall, rendering impossible any shots to the right-hand 50 off the cushion - or the last 200 shot on that side.

All in all a very nice pub with friendly bar staff.

Does a good job as only pub in typical Cambridgeshire village, though on my visits full of younger lager-drinkers. Deuchars IPA good, other guest ales less so. Friendly, and excellent outdoor play area.
