So much for the playground - what about the pub?

We decided to visit this pub as near to us and couldn't be bothered to cook! I have to say that the facilities for children are excellent. This is one of the nicest and safest play areas I have seen in a pub. There is a fenced play area with Sandpit, slide, wig wam tent, chalk and magnetic boards, books and sponge swords - plenty for kids to do. There are also tables in this area to eat so you can keep a close eye on the kids. Outside of this area, you will find Giant Chess, Pool Table, Swings, Tennis Net and plenty of space for the kids to run around. The owners have really thought about what kids and parents need for a trip to the pub! The food was average but priced fairly - £6.95 for Roast dinner. We would definately come again, we were there over 2 hrs and kids had a great time!

Great place to take the kids in the summer. To the rear there is a very large beer garden and an excellent play area for the kids (climbing frame, swings, outdoor pool table, basket ball hoop, giant chess set & sand pit). Got food and friendly staff. Not much lounging area indoors but nice al fresco area to the front.

Forever passing this place and decided to call in one evening a couple of weeks ago.

There's a bar on the right with a wide open plan archway to the left into a basic eating area. Very shortly after being served the one other customer left and the chef(?) served a meal in the eating area for himself and the barman. I was left alone at the bar.

Is it me?
