Despite being a GK pub, this is a lovely little place in a pretty village which is easy walking or cycling distance from Cambridge (cycling is more realistic). On a Staurday lunchtime in the summer there were a few friendy locals, other vistors like myself and very good Abbot Ale - served straight from the barrel. I meant to only have a couple but the Abbot was so good I had four.

This is a very friendly village pub in the centre of Barton. Greene King Abbot and IPA served in excellent condition. No food served here. The reputation rests on quality of beer and service. Set in a large garden with lots of seating the Hoops is very popular at weekends and summer evenings. There is a mixed clientele who are all very welcoming and very friendly.

The Hoops supports two mens darts teams and a ladies. It also supports two teams in crib leagues. It acts as a social centre for Barton and surrounding villages. Worth a trip out from Cambridge if you are visiting There is a cycle path all the way.
