Believe this place is under new management now. Haven't tried the food but the beer was certainly tasting better. Will post when i've tried the food! aclementine - 30 Nov 2008 17:34

The only thing permanent about this pub is the "Under New Management" sign. I was a Whitbread Manager for many years and if they had run their estate like Morlands appear to run theirs thay would have gone under years ago. I will try to do a "mystic meg" and tell the future......I see the freehold being sold (but never advertised as there would be a string of locals ready to buy it)..and the new owners will have some involvement/family/tie with Morlands if you dig deep enough.............it would be the only explanation for the total mis-managmentof this establishment by the brewery...none opf which has been the fault of the numerous managers/holding companies/ and relief managers that have come and gone. If it is to stay as it is they may as well install a revolving door at the front for numerous landlord changes we will see durng the summer. TheFoxhunter - 9 May 2008 14:09
Great food and friendly staff. A few cask conditioned ales on offer as well, which if my memory serves me correctly, were pretty decent when I tried them! If you like good food, then give them a go. doot - 5 Sep 2007 13:56
Good if you are on the Downs Link path, either on foot or bike, as it is adjacent. The beer I had was well-kept (Harveys)and another on (out of three) was Jennings. Ordinary - 21 Jun 2007 22:13
