A Sam Smiths pub which feels very cosy. The locals in there are friendly (and quite knowledgeable, even though I did go on pub quiz night!). It's probably the best pub in Menston and I could easily stay there for a few hours.

I would have to agree indefinately that this is one of the best pubs i have been in, i again are a barman there aged 19, at the moment, and have had many good and stupidly cheap nights there! the hawaiin theme of a thatched roof is one of the defining points in the pub and wouldn't want to c it go for the world (same opinion as tomrv but i think he mis-typed!) alas the lack of jukebox has severly reduced the singing but entertainment value has not dropped much at all! a must-visit, the cider does take well to the taste-buds too - i have warned you!!!

What a pub!!!!!

If you want to stay sane, don't drink the cider. A great pub. One of the best landlords I've ever met. Beer and larger are good and stupidly cheap. Only problem is Sam Smith's attitude. No jukebox and no telly. This does make the conversation and self made entertainments more interesting however. If you want to experience a real life soap you've got to visit here. Only gets an 8 as no music or telly mainly no music and singing is banned.

I am actually a barman at this place and I can tell you honestly I love this place. A great traditional old pub but always lively and busy. I am currently 18 but have enjoyed coming here for a few years thanks to the benefit of looking a bit older than I do. But do not think this is some type of under age drinking den. Ages range from students, to middle age right up to the bitter drinking older people. This pub is cosy with open fires, cheapest but tastiest beers about thanks to the samuel smith brewery....and yes the pub still does have its hawaian thatched roof bar, very out of place but I would like to see it go for the world! Come in and have a pint, its friendly and well...great!

a local samuel smiths pub with good pub food and a friendly atmosphere. last time I went (a while ago) the bar had an eyecatching beach hut-look.
