Ye gods alive, a discussion about over 25s in the old Sandford, it was almost exclusively an over 60s when I last drank there ! Mmmmm...I'll look on the bright side now I'm nearly (age) qualified to take part in a conversation with my 'elders' at the bar ! aleman, tut-tut, I was told as a young man to avoid bad beer and cheeky youngsters ! Really young fella ! Will try and visit soon but I suppose I'll end up parked somewhere up near the old hospital or the driving test centre ! No rating left.

Its ok, I'm happy for there to be over 25's for pubs and bars.

Landlord and lady always welcoming, as are staff. Nice atmosphere and lovely garden.

Aleman - quick note on the 'ageist' comment. The reason for the over 25's rule is to give the slightly older Guildford clentel somewhere to go with out the hassle of being surrounded by kids and the younger generation. There is plenty in town for the young folks; Bridge Street for one(make that several), so one pub out of several being 'Over 25s' is really not a crime. If it bothers you that much then go to Bridge Street - you'll feel right at home an you might even get a fight.
