user reviews of the City Cafe, Edinburgh

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

I visited here for the first time this weekend and ended up going back the following night. The bar staff was friendly, the music was good and the Guinness was lovely, one of the best pints I had all weekend.

No issues with other patrons, no one looked particularly posey, just out to have a good night with friends and a few pints.

Would definately go back next time I'm in Edinburgh.

Still has a good all day breakfast. So it is nicknamed "Pretty Naff", I can't help but like it. No ale but friendly staff.

Please please please sort the toilets out! Even on a lunchtime they are like an open sewer in a war zone!

A Posuer's Paradise! Always was, always will be. Was in it twice, and just about EVERYBODY stared at us.

This used to be the most stylish bar in Edinburgh,it was years ahead of its time.It was my favorite city centre bar for years.
The power trip twats on the door have "face fits/regulars only" policy in place now.(I've been drinking there for over 9 years)Myself and others I know have given up going there now 'cos of these morons.Avoid this bar, there's loads more in the toon.
THE CITY CAFE IS DEAD.
LONG LIVE THE BASEMENT.
