My wife and I called in to get a drink and some food before moving on. Unfortunately it was the wrong time, but a few things struck me:
1) the complete lack of real ale;
2) not the greatest choice of wine;
3) the clientele (obvious iPhone Users ;-);
4) the way in which my wife and I were being ushered out of the pub as not fitting the demographic (we're middle-aged, and were reasonably dressed for where we were going, rather than "smart casual").

I think they will miss us as little as we will miss them.

A wine bar that sells Arkells ales. Not as busy as it used to be, which for me is a plus.Still a bit expensive, but the staff were attentive and friendly.
Food is alledgedly good.
All round not as bad an experience as I used to think it was.

Longs is generally full of everyone who's anyone. Rammed solid on a Saturday night and full of wannabe type people. Attuitude isn't anywhere near as bad what people make out. Just smile and nod, dress to the nines - you should be fine.
It takes ages to get served though, and I've waited up to an hour for food during the day as well which sux. but the general atmosphere in there is chilled and they have some pretty good dj's if you like rnb or funky house.

Full of posers, the worst being the bar staff. Mainly over-priced but food is very good. Very mainstream. Pretentious to the point whereby it's uncomfortable to go in there if you don't look 'up-market Swindon', aka haven't spend a fortune on boring designer clothes rejected from London
