user reviews of the King William, Catcott

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Headed to this pub after a visit to the 37 Club in Puriton. Their website says they open at 6pm on a Sunday. A board outside proclaimed that they were open, with opening times also confirmed as from 6pm. A contradictory notice said they served roasts all day on a Sunday until 7pm. A note on the door suggested they'd be closed on Bank Holiday Monday. We waited and we waited. We called and we called again. But the pub never opened and nobody answered our calls. I'm not entirely sure if it's still trading, given all this uncertainty. But what is certain is that you can't get a beerintheevening here. So the only score I can give is 0/10.

Not as nice now as when Malcolm and Linda ran it.Food lukewarm, rushed, overpriced, unflexable staff.Dining experience more like a wetherspoons.Nice pint of palmers though.

Recent visit attending friend's wedding reception. Large rambling dining area at rear which I presume is an extension, still leaving room for locals to imbide in peace in front snug bar. Food was good, and had excellent pints of Palmers Copper Ale and Best Bitter. Seating area out front in sunshine, with parasols that were sailing down the road in the breeze! Well worth a visit.

Hoping to get in here one day,my last 2 attempts Failed but, only for the fact that Birthday parties had booked in for lunch. Looks very inviting from the outside, now it,s had a refurb,so with luck next visit should prove positve, looking forward to it.

Great Pub with bundles of character. I heard it is closing for a refurb. Are Palmers going to do a sympathetic job? I hope so as this is a pub that is truly loved by it's regulars.
