| Its over priced and needs a new chefs. hopefully new management will arrive just in time to save this pub. lets start praying anonymous - 16 Aug 2007 02:13 |
I went to this pub for Sunday lunch. Firstly i'd like to say that the staff were excellent. Very helpful and extremely friendly. The garden is small but very pretty and relaxing and there's plenty of parking. The pub is really nice inside. Loads of tables and a few leather sofas to relax on. The pub doesn't allow children so if you want a quiet drink it's excellent. The food however was a REAL let down. It was over priced rubbish. The meat in both the lamb and beef Sunday roast was hard and over cooked. The vegetables were small and pretty pathetic and there was so much gravy the food was literally swimming. Not worth the £10 asking price. My mum had the risotto (also £10) which was literally plain boiled rice and a couple of shrimps. No sauce and no flavour. My girlfriend had the mushroom and brandy parscel which was under cooked with a soggy pastry. To be fair to the manageress (who was also very lovely) we were given two free meals and a round of drinks, but this was because two of the dishes were wrong and were going to take another 20 minutes to arrive, and not because the standard of food was so bad. It was a real let down as it's such a nice looking pub. Great for drinks. Not so great for eating. cheekychimp - 15 Jul 2007 19:41 |
| I have to disagree with others about this pub. I was unaware when going during the day that they did not like parents with children in the garden area and only found out from a fairly rude waitress that we had to leave and she more or less ushered us out the car park. I fail to see why you are not allowed a child in a pub garden on a Sunday afternoon while meeting with friends, as a parent I feel discriminated against. One to avoid. anonymous - 28 May 2007 20:18 |

| I quite liked the decor at this place. The food was overpriced (but OK quality) on my visit and the beer was acceptable. Psi - 27 Nov 2006 13:32 |
