Wonderful just what richmond needs an other bloody restaurant. Can't these people leave us drinkers to enjoy these old quirky pubs!!!! the_surrey_beer_nomad - 2 Mar 2007 07:19
Alas, the grand ole Duke of York (Richmond) has marched that hill too often, and is no more.. And we are the poorer for this loss. Farewell old friend. TJ TeeJay - 14 Dec 2006 20:55
never the greatest hostelry, but at least it was a PROPER pub in the town centre .... can't believe how they're being driven out by bland, corporate bars. mozzzzzz - 7 Nov 2006 16:04
Are there any pubs still open in Richmond? Lyncroft - 3 Aug 2006 19:23
My Aunt Jose and Uncle Ron Sharpling owned this Pub from the early 60's to the early 80's. They built a good business and offered a warm welcome to most. They had a nucleus of charasmatic regulars and a steady passing trade. I have cherished memories of our frequent visits, weekends, school holidays, Christmas etc. Sadly they have both passed away, as indeed as The Duke of York, Richmond. readyasfreddy - 8 Jul 2006 10:49
