This is one of my favourite pubs and whenever I'm in the area visiting a lifelong friend we always come here for lunch.
Excellent food especially if Lobster is on the menu, reasonably priced too, good choice of well looked after beers. Its good to sit outside in summer and just listen to the birds and country sounds.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Went there this weekend after a very long walk from Houghton way and have never been more happy to get to a pub. The weather was amazing and so was the place. Very friendly staff and helpful staff. Some really nice ales and cider. Favourite being the Arundel ale. The food was absolutely perfect for what we wanted. Probably the best sandwich Ive ever had, anywhere. Can highly recommend the bacon and brie sarnie. Thought it was very reasonably priced but then I am used to London prices. All in all one of the best pubs Ive been to. 9/10. God I wish I was there now in the sun.

Good pub with good beers. The food was very good, if a little pricey, but there was plenty of it. The garden setting, with some areas decked over for tables and chairs, is very beautiful. The whole garden is bordered by mature woodland, and I could have cheerfully spent the whole day there, sampling the beers and watching the sum move round.

Worth a visit.

Recently undergone complete makeover, whilst still retaining the village drinkers pub atmosphere. Excellent food & very good real ales from micro-breweries
