| A real local pub, with friendly owners happy to chat and an amazing collection of old rural bygones covering both the walls and ceiling. Huge inglenook fireplace. Nice to find a pub that has a landlord who has been there many years and has not sold out to the gastropub idea, unlike many pubs in this area. Food was good and home made, the sort of pub that caters for hungry people who like large portions. Curry came with lots of extras. OH said the beer was good. I drink cider and was pleased to find stowford press which I like. There is a beer garden with a courtyard. Local magazines to read if you want. Dog friendly, easy parking, and easy to arrange to meet people as you just look for the big red tractor sitting outside. They do B&B appartments too. Tortihellcat - 20 Sep 2011 23:05 |

| Lovely old traditional pub with pool table, darts and no juke box. Large open fire in winter. Selection ales (3), cider (2), larger (?) start at £2.80 / pint. Good home cooking available every day plus Sunday roast - known for their Northchapel Sausages. Very generous portions and mostly below £10. Dog friendly and good beer garden at rear.
