Traditional looking pub. Courage Best (£3.10), Directors (£3.20) and Adnams Lighthouse (£3.20). Lighhouse was ok. Friendly enough, quiet early Sunday lunchtime. GuideDogSaint - 25 Sep 2011 12:21
Town centre pub on a busy main road, a bit tatty but quite nice. Friendly staff, cheap food. Several real ales on including one that is brewed exclusively for this pub: "In bourne and bread" ale. Brewed with treacle apparently somewhere in Dorset (Sixpenny brewery??). Strong flavour & very nice indeed. alan_From_SAWW - 29 Jul 2010 18:33
We visited this pub last Saturday evening. The beer was good, but we were surprised at the lack of customers-particularly as this is the only pub in the centre of the village-there was no-one in the restaurant. It is a nice traditional english pub. huntforbeer - 24 May 2010 09:55
It was a busy carnival day when we visited during a long walk. Cracking pints of Bourne and Blond (I think it was called) and a lively crowd inside and out. I normally baulk at drinking out of a plastic 'glass' but it was due to the busy period I guess - the beer still tasted good. I'm surprised it isn't in the Beer Guide quite frankly. pkrp - 3 May 2010 18:33
The Sun Inn is everything you would hope for in an old, traditional, English pub. My wife and I spend every second month living in France and one of the things I miss is a meal in a traditional pub together with real English ale. We found the Sun Inn by chance a year ago (October 2008) when we just happened to notice the pub whilst meandering our way to Woking. Since then we have made two more purposeful trips just to have a meal there. It is by no means our “local” as we live in Bedfordshire - a good hour and a half away! It is easy to get to for anyone wanting a break from travelling on the M25 or the M3. On our first visit the cellar was flooded and the manager was unable to change the empty barrels so I was limited in my choice of beer. On our subsequent visits, however, there were a few more to choose from. I recommend the Hogs Back ales. On each visit we found there to be a good meal choice and the food is of the highest quality and served in generous portions at very reasonable prices. All in all, we can wholeheartedly recommend the Sun Inn at Chobham - the epitome of a traditional, old English Inn. Graham R, Stotfold. Graham.Stotfold - 26 Oct 2009 17:21
